Hawaii to Receive $16 Million In Stimulus Funding for Energy Efficiency Improvements

Senate Appropriations Chairman Daniel K. Inouye and Senator Daniel K. Akaka announced today that the State will receive $15 million from the Energy Efficiency and Conversation Block program which is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Hawaii received nearly $30 million for state energy programs and weatherization funding.

"This additional energy funding allows Hawaii reduce total energy use and lessen its dependence on fossil fuel emissions." said Chairman Inouye and Senator Akaka. "As with all stimulus funding, it gives opportunities to create more jobs throughout the State."
